I got the sweetest opportunity to read and review this children’s book through a “free read” on Amazon a couple of days ago… And thank you so much Author Regina Puckett for such a delightful, cute lesson for our young ones (for all really) to learn from.
This is a story of a baby dragon, the smallest in the kingdom; while gazing wistfully out over the horizon, longing to be able to soar with powerful wings… to explore the open skies, and far away places.
His Momma could sense and see his frustrations that he was going through, and came up to him; knelt down and extended her beautiful massive wings. Telling baby dragon to climb on up, and that her wings are strong enough to carry two, that he may borrow them whenever he wished. <3
Baby dragon climbed up, and on her back together they explored the waters of the coast, the twinkling stars and drank from the clouds…. The many beautiful wonders that the world has to offer. Learning to explore, being taught, and learning the very important lesson of helping others.
Then came the day that baby dragon had grown up enough to be able to fly on his own… he kissed his caring and loving mother goodbye as he set off to explore his adventures of the vast and glorious world on his own. Using his own mighty, massive, strong wings… yes his own strong wings, he wasn’t a baby anymore, but a Mighty Dragon now!!!
So many adventures lay ahead for him. Discovering new planets, soaring to distant lands and even playing with the whales and dolphins in the ocean…
Many years had past, and he returns to his home.. To find his mother sitting on the edge of a steep hillside, looking so very sad. He asks Mother Dragon “why so sad?”
She explains to him, that what was once her strong wings, were indeed now fragile, and not as strong as they were.
Mighty Dragon did for his Momma as she had done for him many years before when he himself couldn’t fly yet. He knelt down and extended his very own mighty massive wings, and told his Mother “you may borrow mine, they are strong enough for two.” <3 <3 To borrow his wings whenever she wished… And together once again they flew off to see the beautiful wonders through the eyes of a dragon . With love, on borrowed wings.
Learning to share and lend a helping hand or even a wing is such a vital important lesson in the growth of young minds and their hearts, yet so readily forgotten once learned.
Young ones, and even all the way up to us as adults truly need to learn or relearn the simple lessons of value and love that we were all taught, yet sadly in a lot of cases not used.
Once again, thank you Author Regina Puckett for this beautiful lives lesson.
